| | | | North American Division Ministerial Association - Every Church A House of Prayer! | Is your church know in its community as a house of prayer?
Recently I was on a prayer call with several of the prayer leaders in one of our conferences, and as is often the case, the president was on the call with us. It was an intense time of intercession, but when the president began to pray it caused an ever heard from him, he cried out, “Oh, God, please show us how to make every church in our field a house of prayer!”
That’s an inspired idea, you know. According to Jesus’ words (Matthew 21:12) it is His will that this should be our name, our identity. As important as preaching is, He never called His church a house of preaching. As essential as music is, He never called His church a house of music. But Jesus Himself said, “My house shall be called a house of prayer.” [More]
| | | | History of AIM | Accuracy in Media | Accuracy in Media was founded in 1969 by a group of concerned citizens, led by economist Reed Irvine, who were troubled by the inaccuracies and one-sidedness they saw in the American media. Frustrated by the media’s unwillingness to address their individual concerns, they banded together to form Accuracy in Media, hoping that an organization would have more clout than individuals in getting the media to correct serious errors.
AIM began by sending letters to newspaper editors asking for corrections. If a newspaper refused to correct the error or print the letter, AIM bought advertising space in the paper to print the correction. In 1972, Accuracy in Media started publishing the AIM Report, a newsletter dedicated to correcting serious media errors. AIM began purchasing stock in major media corporations in 1975, which enabled its representatives to attend news companies’ annual shareholder meetings and ask executives to resolve issues with the corporation’s reporting. In an unprecedented victory in 1984, AIM persuaded PBS to air a documentary it produced challenging the network’s coverage of the Vietnam War.
AIM has built on these methods through the years, publishing countless articles, books, pamphlets, advertisements, documentaries, special reports, and commentaries; holding rallies, protests, and special events; and finding creative ways to draw attention to the issue of media bias and inaccuracy.
Originally a tiny all-volunteer group, Accuracy in Media has grown into an influential organization with several full-time media analysts and thousands of supporters. AIM has enjoyed great success in exposing and correcting errors, educating the public to become intelligent news consumers, and convincing media organizations to address errors they have made. | | | | A Church Tips A Pizza Delivery Girl $588 | I was sitting in Church on Sunday when my pastor got up to start his sermon, and I could tell something was different. He’d been talking about being grateful and focusing our hearts on giving when he paused and stepped out from behind the podium. He started explaining that this week we were going to take up a special offering for a total stranger. The baskets started passing and I dropped in what cash I had on me. He explained that he’d ordered a few pizzas that would be delivered soon, and whatever money was collected would go as a tip to the pizza delivery person. [More]
| | | | Christian Heritage Fellowship | The Butterfly | ne of the early symbols of the Christian Church was the butterfly. Throughout its history, the Christian Church has employed many symbols to identify the person and ministry of Jesus Christ (known as Chrismons) and the purpose and ministry of the Church itself. One of those symbols was the butterfly. Of all the symbols used by Christians to describe themselves, perhaps no other symbol suggests the change that occurs when one experiences the regenerating power of a living faith in Christ as does the butterfly. For this reason, Christian Heritage Fellowship has chosen to use the butterfly in our logo. [More] | | |

| | | | Christian Butterfly | Christian Butterfly symbolism has been talked about throughout the ages. monarch butterfly The butterfly emerging from the chrysalis has traditionally been a symbolism of Christ rising from the tomb.
The stages of the butterfly - egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, and butterfly are wonderful analogies to our life as Christians.
The miracle starts with an egg the size of the top of a straight pin....just as human life starts with a tiny fertilized egg. A few short days later a TINY caterpillar emerges through the shell of the egg.....a baby is born.
The caterpillar stage of eating, eating, eating is symbolic of life on earth.....preoccupied so often with the physical and material.
In the chrysalis stage it appears the caterpillar is lifeless inside the chrysalis.....symbolizing death and the darkness of the tomb, an inevitable reality. But, lo, inside of the chrysalis a miracle is taking place.....
The butterfly emerges..... symbolic of our souls rising from the grave and ascending into heaven and eternal life.
The miracle of course is that the egg is transformed into the beautiful butterfly.....it leaves no doubt in my mind that there IS a God. [More]
| | | | Christian Soul Symbolism: The Butterfly? & Psyche | Our Everyday Life | Throughout history, Christianity has borrowed symbols from other cultures to express some of the most important concepts of the faith. The butterfly counts as one of these. But whether the symbology comes from a Christian perspective or from a more ancient culture, the beauty of these winged creatures always means new life and hope.

| | | | butterfly - ReligionFacts | In Christianity, the butterfly has long been a symbol of the resurrection of Christ as well as the resurrection of believers. The caterpillar disappears into a cocoon, which is like the tomb Christ lay in after the crucifixion, appearing dead. Later, it emerges from "death," having transformed into something more beautiful and powerful than it was.
The butterfly symbol is seen especially around Easter, the Christian holiday that celebrates the resurrection of Christ. But the butterfly is also a symbol of every Christian's hope of resurrection from the dead, so it is sometimes displayed at the memorials and funerals of believers as well.
"So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body." ~ 1 Corinthians 15:42-44
"For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed." ~ 1 Corinthians 15:52b [More]
| | | | Christian Living in May - Christian Heritage Fellowship, Inc. | Often, the high church of the Christian faith has celebrated the lives of early Church leaders, and none have been celebrated more highly than the Apostles. As the Apostles bore testimony to their faith in their Lord Jesus Christ through martyrdom, the Early Church began to observe days of remembrance for their ministries. Unfortunately, the Christian Church began to practice hagiolatry or the worship of the saints. Pagan ideas of prayer being offered to and for the dead became a practice among Christians. Though Christians should never pray or offer veneration and worship to anyone or anything other than God, there is an appropriate place in the life of the Christian Church to remember faithful leaders who have given their strength and lives for the advancement of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The lives and ministries of James, Son of Alphaeus (or “The Less”), and Philip are remembered on May 3 in the Western Church and later in the year by Eastern Orthodox Christians. Following the death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus, Matthias was chosen to take the place of Judas who betrayed Christ. After the account of his selection to the apostolic office (Acts 1:18-26), he is never mentioned again in Scripture. The life and ministry of Matthias is remembered and celebrated in the West on May 14. [More] | | |

| | | | | About Online Church Directory | Church Membership Software | “The idea of an Online Church Directory came to Dave and Doris as they were getting ready for church service one Sunday morning and couldn’t remember the name of a new member. They began talking about how great it would be to have up-to-date digital pictures of their church family, similar to the ones they had of grandchildren. They both loved the idea of having a church family album with names, contact information, and pictures that could be kept updated on a daily basis. [More] | | |
